WEEDEN THROWS 3 INT IN 23-0 LOSS
23 Sept 2012
Cleveland, OH
The (Tecmo) Browns fell to 0-3 Sunday, unable to find an answer for Buffalo's strong Defensive front. After a promising showing the previous week in Cincinnati, the Browns Offense relapsed to ineptitude, 3-and-outs and turnovers giving Buffalo a perpetual short field. Despite having the deck stacked against them, the Browns defense, led by a strong performance by Kaluka Maiava, held the Bills to just 2 field goals in the first half.
Buffalo, however, came out strong to start the second half, dominating the 3rd quarter with a 12-play, 85 yard drive. C.J. Spiller's touchdown run effectively put the game on ice. Put under pressure, quarterback Brandon Weeden threw interceptions on the next two drives, killing any chances of a Cleveland comeback.
Despite the score, the Browns Defense looked strong, sacking Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick seven times. Kaluka Maiava led the charge with three sacks and three more hurries. Cleveland tries for their first win Sept. 24 at Baltimore.
