My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A Psalm for the Wild-Built is an immersive meditation on nature and machinery, a kind of cozy hard sci-fi. Sibling Dex, a monk, goes on a journey through the wilds of Panga, the civilized moon where they live, and happens upon a robot, the kinds of which humans haven’t seen for hundreds of years. Together they journey toward purpose and discovery. The writing is beautiful and lyrical without being pretentious or inaccessible. Every time I put the book down I could not wait to pick it back up again. I look forward to revisiting the world of Dex and Mosscap time and time again.
