Brigands & Breadknives by Travis BaldreeMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
Brigands and Breadknives for better or worse, is much the same as Baldree’s previous entries in the Legends and Lattes series. This time we follow ratkin Fern as she inadvertently adventures with the realms most famous elf warrior. It reads like a D&D campaign allowed at times to run delightfully off the rails. Humor abounds and there isn’t a fantasy trope Baldree won’t upturn. The writing is good and there’s a ton of fun here, but, by the end of the third book, it feels almost formulaic at points.
