National Novel Writing Month: Day 1

10:25 AM

Well, a little over ten hours into my second National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and already I've chunked out 1,145 words of glorious (if maybe just a little clunky) prose. As Disco Stu would say, "If these trends continue...eeeehhhhh."

If you extrapolate that number (being 1145 words per 3 waking hours) I'll end up with something in the vicinity of 206,000 words. That's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire numbers. War and Peace, even. Considering both my kids are ill (croup and ear infections), I sound like Ma from Ma's Roadhouse and my nephew looks like a slobbery elephant when he sneezes, I'll be happy with whatever I reach.

I'll keep my live word-count on the sidebar here, with a little widget which looks something (exactly) like this:

Until Dec. 1, this space will be Keith is Good: NaNoWriMo edition. My goal is set at 100,000 words in 30 days. Lets see how far I can get.
